Full Spectrum Monochrome Camera – WLV-01 Build Kit
Build it. Customize it. Make it yours.
This kit gives you everything you need to build your own full spectrum monochrome camera — using the same core system found in our flagship model.
It’s designed for photographers, hardware enthusiasts, and makers who want more than a finished product.
Powered by the IMX585 monochrome sensor, this camera captures true black and white images with exceptional clarity and tonality.
You bring your own Raspberry Pi and display. We provide the parts that are difficult to source, difficult to manufacture, and essential to making the system work reliably.
If you’ve ever wanted to create a camera that is uniquely your own, this is where it starts.

Camera Software – Key Features
The included software is the same platform used in the fully assembled camera.
Film Simulation Modes
Shoot with in-camera monochrome looks inspired by classic film stocks. The live preview reflects your selected look so composition and exposure feel intentional.
Aspect Ratio Selection
Compose using multiple aspect ratios directly in-camera, including 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, and more. Framing updates instantly before capture.
Focus Peaking
A live focus peaking overlay highlights areas of sharp focus, making manual focusing fast and intuitive.
Rangefinder Assist Mode
A dedicated focus assist mode inspired by classic rangefinder cameras. When enabled, the display simplifies to help you focus with precision and intention.
ISO Control
Choose between Auto ISO or fixed ISO values to maintain a consistent look or adapt to changing light.
Shutter Speed Control
Use Auto Shutter or manually select shutter speeds to freeze motion, introduce blur, or maintain consistent exposure.
Double Exposure Mode
Create layered images directly in-camera. Capture the first exposure, then compose the second using a live overlay before saving the combined image.
RAW + JPG Capture
Every photo can be saved as both a processed JPEG with your selected film look applied and a full-resolution RAW (DNG) file for post-processing flexibility.

Sample Images (C-Mount TV Lenses)
Want to see what the IMX585 monochrome sensor looks like in real-world use?
This gallery features sample images captured with vintage C-mount TV lenses, showcasing the character, contrast, and sharpness you can expect from this sensor when paired with classic optics.
These examples highlight:
-
true monochrome rendering (no Bayer filter)
-
edge character and vignetting from C-mount glass
-
tonal response in high-contrast scenes
-
the natural, film-like look produced by simple lenses
- built in grainy film simulations
